This website is dedicated to Bunurong language, sometimes also called Boonwurrung, Boon Wurrung, or Bunwurrung. It is a gateway for all peoples to learn about our language.
Bunurong is the language of Bunurong Country. It is the sacred language of our Ancestors. Walk softly on Country, and listen carefully to ngul: our voices, our words, our language.
Biik-nganhinhu
Our Country

Bunurong Biik (Bunurong Country) holds us from the north bank of Wirribi Yaluk (Werribee River) in the west to the south bank of the Yarra River, right around the coast of Naarm (Port Phillip Bay), through Munmurr (Point Nepean) to Wurnmarrinh (Westernport Bay), east to Warragul and to Wamum (Wilsons Promontory) at the southern tip, where the Land Bridge once joined us to Lutruwita (Tasmania).
